Closing Day

The curtain came down on the gents bowling season last Saturday, but the wet start to the day did not stop play as the keen bowlers still managed to play 11 ends with the Auld Yins (over 65’s) taking on the Young Guns (Under 65’s). At the end of the game it was the Young Guns that just had their neck in front by 65 shots to 58 shots.

Australian Pairs Rained Off

On Sunday 24th September the gents Australian Pairs took place but unfortunately the play was halted after the second game due to poor weather conditions and the safety of the players. Many thanks to all the players who turned up to participate in the tournament.

Off-Season Activities

The Quiz is back in full swing every Thursday evening ( 9pm start ) and the Carpet Bowls will commence on Tuesday 18th October starting at 7pm each Tuesday evening in the Club. The monthly Darts, Pool and Dominoes nights will commence in the club soon. Keep an eye on the notice board for details.

150 Years Old This Year!

Stewarton Bowling Club was established in 1861 and 2011 is the 150th aniversary of its founding. The club has a full member ship of 71, 8 honorary members a senior section of 60 and a flourishing ladies section.

The current, 150th President is David Rankin and the vice president is Hugh Sharp.

From Stewarton Cross take the A735, Rig Street, north towards Dunlop. Then take the second right, cross Avenue Street and the club is 20 yards along on your left.
